- Partner with other friends of animals to ensure that all our pets are provided the opportunity to live a healthy & peaceful life.
- Assist Brown County residents who needhelp to find, feed or adequately care for their animal companions.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Brown County Humane Society Promise Fund
What is the Promise Fund Matching Gifts Program?
The Promise Fund Matching Gifts program is designed to encourage and enhance philanthropic contributions to the Brown County Humane Society’s endowment fund. In 2009, for every dollar donated to the Promise Fund, up to a total cumulative of $25,000, an additional dollar will be placed in the Promise Fund.
Are there any minimum or maximum match contribution limitations?
Any amount of money may be donated to the Promise Fund. In 2009 all donations will be matched until a cumulative total of $25,000 is reached.
In 2009 I pledged $5000 over a 5 year period with a payment structure of $1000/year. I will donate $1000 in 2009. Will all $5000 of my pledge be matched?
No, only the amount contributed in 2009 will be matched. Therefore your $1000 will be deposited in the Promise Fund along with an additional $1000 from the Matching Gifts Program. The remainder of your payments after 2009 will not be matched.
How much must I contribute to have my name on the Recognition Wall?
There are several Promise Fund Giving Levels which determine the placement of your name on the Recognition Wall. A minimum of $2000 is required to have your name on the wall.
If I donate $1000 and the matching gifts program donates an additional $1000 will my name appear on the Recognition Wall and how much is tax deductible?
Your donation in 2009 must be at least $2000 (not including the match) in order to be included on the Recognition Wall.
Only the amount you contribute to the Promise Fund (not including the match) is tax deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor for details.
